I am Bandana, a Kathmandu native and also an Oregonian. 10,000 Prayer Flag is a personal project of remembrance. I started this site soon after the April 25th earthquake in Nepal. Rather than just feeling helpless and not doing anything, I decided that one thing I could do was to remind people of the tragedy, the subsequent heroic actions of everyday people in Nepal who are responding to the disaster and ask also everyone for their continued compassion and support in helping rebuild Nepal. However, as much as I want to help raise money, my first pledge is to make 10,000 prayer flags and garner prayers and messages of hope and compassion to write in each flag.
